2023 TrekAdvent, Day 20

For untold years the name Star Destroyer has been synonymous with the Galactic Empire and its unending reign over a galaxy far, fa….you know that bit. But now, after the cruel devastation of Cardassia Prime in the closing hours of the Dominion War, the survivors of Cardassia have made the decision to change how the Alpha Quadrant views this ship and its name. With their Basestar Class vessels taking on the role of transporting combat craft, the new Star Destroyer Class cruiser has been upgraded with modern warp engines and the original hangar bays housing scores of fighters, shuttles, troop transports and walkers have been converted to living quarters. This massive starship is now capable or relocating tens of thousands of displaced Cardassians whose homes were razed by the Jem’Hadar on the final, diabolical orders of the Founders. The ship that claimed to destroy stars is now given a new purpose, to create new homes.

2023 TrekAdvent, Day 16

The Cardassian Union expands their fleet once again on Day 16. As previously mentioned when they co-opted the Daedalus design from Stargate Command, plans were already in motion to create a vessel capable of housing the Starfury fleets constructed by Central Command, making the hangar bays on the Daedalus Class unnecessary; this was their solution. Having closely examined an inoperative Klingon Raider adapted from the Cylons, the Cardassians discovered a homing signal deep in the code of the Raider’s synthetic mind and traced it back to an abandoned Cyclon Basestar. Salvage and retrofitting operations began immediately in the Orias System, where construction took place for the fleet used in the ill-fated attack on the Founders many years ago. Once completed, the Cardassians possessed a Basestar Class vessel intended to unleash a swarm of Starfuries against Klingon forces while simultaneously using its technological connection to the Raiders as a way to confound the Klingon attack efforts.

2023 TrekAdvent, Day 10

TrekAdvent Day 10. Ben, Ken, Len, Pen, Men, Den, Hen, Zen and Yen. Rhymes achieved.

The Cardassians, having acquired a taste for borrowing ships designs after the success of repurposing Earthforce Starfuries, once again adapt human engineering by taking possession of the Tau’ri BC-304 known as the Daedalus Class battlecruiser. While some may expect the hangar bays on either side to house a compliment of Starfuries, Central Command confounded expectations by converting the bays into massive warp nacelles and converting the primary hull into densely packed barracks, allowing the vessel to transport a formidable detachment of ground troops while maintaining high warp speeds for considerable lengths of time. Their solution for delivering combat fighters will soon be revealed.

2023 TrekAdvent, Day 5 & 6

So yeah, I missed December 5th. What can I tell ya? Stuff happens.

But we’re back, and we begin with a Starfury fighter craft from Babylon 5 press ganged into service by the Cardassian Union. Perhaps with these agile vessels at their disposal the Central Command would have fared better against the Maquis.

Starfleet makes a serious departure from their normal style by acquiring some surplus Ha’Taks from deposed or deceased System Lords among the Goa’uld. After the Starfleet Corps of Engineers completed the retrofits allowing these behemoths to move from Naquadah-based power to Deuterium-based warp drive they became the envy of all alien civilizations that based their culture on the Egyptians of ancient Earth.

T-Shirt Contest

So I entered a T-shirt design contest.  The winners are chosen by the number of votes their designs receive.  The winner(s) receive a cash prize, and likely their design on a t-shirt that people can actually buy and wear!  In public and shit!  It’s rather amazing!  And oh yeah…it’s a Star Trek design contest.

Here’s the thing; I don’t have many friends, and could use some help with the whole ‘getting votes’ thing.  I am including links to all five of my designs, and would love some votes to help me out.
